Don't quite understand how all 1-stars leads to a 2.5 star rating, but that's beside the point that this company cannot be trusted. Overall...do NOT sign a contract that doesn't grant you a "finish and complete" date. I’ve since started working for them and am even more impressed with this company and what it offers our Edmonton community. Pay attention to the size of your appliances too. They use the smallest possible dishwasher--apartment sized and call it a "standard builder's grade" dishwasher. The sink you are getting that is surrounded by all that beautiful granite is cheap and will not look good for very long.

The new CM tells me that the warranty expired last month and can't believe things are still open since closing, for 2 years now. We filed a lawsuit in September of 2017 since MHI was not honoring their warranty and per the contract when the damages exceed 20% of the contracted price, it's an automatic buy back. We have had two unrelated structural engineers and two mold experts all say that in order to "fix" the house, you need to demolish it. We have house we have $690,000.00 into and it is uninhabitable. We built a home in 2015 with Coventry out in the Canyon Falls community in Argyle and to say the entire experience over the last few years has been horrific is an understatement.
We bought a Coventry home that was an inventory home, and after having an inspection done on the property found it to be fairly well built. Some of the issues that we did find during the inspection were cosmetic in nature and we had them come out and fix them. Part of the allure to buying from Coventry was the "fact" that they had a 2 year fit and finish warranty as opposed to a 1 year like other builders. I use "fact" to describe it because that has not been the case at all.

Very poor builder and use all the wrong…
My plan is to upgrade from my current townhouse to one of our beautiful bungalows in a year or two from now. Coventry homes lives their vision, mission, purpose and values, which whole heartedly aligns completely with mine. HOUSTON, TEXAS -- We were in a hurry to buy a home that was move-in ready. I'm now warning others to not just look at the glamour. Look at the overall structure of the home and what materials are used in building it. Coventry Homes uses Medium-density fibreboard boards throughout the home.
Do not automatically accept the lowest bid - an abnormally low bid may indicate the contractor made a mistake and is not including the same work quoted by their competitors. Coventry Homes - I had a very good experience and I am delighted with my house. Salesperson and Superintendent were awesome to work with. Our sales consultant was knowledgeable, fully engaged and very professional. We use dedicated people and clever technology to safeguard our platform. But, without telling us, they installed all CFL. When I noticed the boxes in the garage and inquired, they said we had missed the cutoff for that new policy change on our contract date. Instead of admitting that they should do what they told us, they held firm that they were not willing to make it right.
The standard floor plan is excellent and met my needs with very few changes. After 6 weeks of living in the home, I only had one warranty item that needed to be addressed, simple garage door adjustment, which is remarkable for new construction. I would recommend this builder to my friends and family. Very poor builder and use all the wrong contractors to build homes. They look for the cheapest contractor and their work shows exactly what they pay for.

We had an electrician look at it who told us that builders will often do that when a breaker keeps tripping. Sure enough he touched both ends of the wire together and the breaker tripped. Apparently the builder's electrician couldn't figure out why so he just cut the white wire. Didn't even bother to put wire nuts on it - just left it in the box that way. Upon inspection of the architectural drawings we noticed that the family room and kitchen were over 2 feet narrower than in the spec home.
We built a house through Coventry Homes which was finished in January of 2016. While pouring concrete for the driveway and walkway several problems were noted. The company who poured the concrete didn't properly barricade the parameter which resulted in a trades worker walking through the concrete and pulling a toolbox through it. This issue was brought up to Coventry who only corrected one portion of the problem . This item was again brought up during our 3 month inspection and again during the 1 year inspection. We were repeatedly told that this was a warranty item but a supervisor would have to come to view the damage.
